People have a common misconception when it comes to playing baseball or any other sport for that matter. It is true that sports are good for you and they help you to stay fit but it is wrong to take to sports in order to become fit. Rather you have to be fit first in order to excel at a sport and then it will become a source of benefit for you.
We find many people to have a very casual approach when it comes to the game of baseball. Its almost as if they are saying just let the kids play ball and have fun. The truth of the matter is that baseball is not that much fun if you don’t know how to play it.
To get an idea of what I mean try and swing a bat in your room for half a minute and you will understand that it’s not that much fun. So if you are going to be playing baseball and missing all the pitches because you really have no idea how to swing your bat in order to make contact with the ball you are not going to be having much fun.
Similarly if you can’t catch a ball and it hits your nose then you won’t remain a big fan of baseball. In order to have fun and succeed in the sport of baseball or any other sport for that matter you need to know how to play the game. This is the reason we have coaches for the game who aim to train you for the sport. This is the only way you will have fun whilst playing baseball.
When you discipline your self in training sessions and strive to learn the basics of the game then you are on your road towards success. Slowly and gradually you will be able to develop your skills that will enable you to be good at the game and enjoy it while you indulge in it. .
There is a big lesson to be learnt from this little boy’s game. That is the fact that the secret to success and fun is discipline and hard work. Coaches face a huge challenge as they try and conceive ideas of how to motivate the players in order to strive to become better players and overcome their shortcomings. Basically how does a coach get his players to have fun at the game?
Ask any professional in any form of sports, arts or skill that the only way to appreciate something for what its worth is to learn it and then practice it. When you educate yourself about the basics of the game and then undergo training sessions in order to develop those skills in you then you will be able to translate this knowledge on the field.
It does not matter if you are not going to be playing pro baseball. What matters is that you should have fun and for that there is a method to the madness known as proper coaching.
